Oliviero Pluviano

Oliviero Pluviano was born in Genoa on the 14th of February 1952. A philosophy student, he attended the Conservatory with protagonists of the Italian artistic scene including flautist Glauco Cambursano and pianist Martha Del Vecchio.

A wanderer by nature, he worked for several national magazines including the Tutto Turismo and the BBC's World. In the 1980s he moved, once again for work, to Brazil.

Here, in 2019, with the support of Bauducco, a company that manufactured Italian panettone in Brazil, he realised the project “I Nonni di São Paulo”, a collection of around 50 stories with photo and video material tied to the stories of Italian immigrants in Brazil after the Second World War. The stories became a book and, with the patronage of the Italian Consulate, a travelling exhibition at the Museu da Imigração in São Paulo, at the Casa da Memoria Italiana in Ribeirão Preto, in Jundiaí.

Some of his stories are now part of the MEI itinerary.

Story collected in collaboration with Oliviero Pluviano and the Project 'The Grandparents of San Paolo'.
