Luigi Catizone

Luigi Catizone was born in January 1946 in Magisano in Calabria to a farming family.

In 1970, he moved to Bologna where he graduated from university with a degree in Medicine and Surgery. During his time at University, he also met Sandra, his future wife.

When he retired in 2013, he joined his daughter Ilaria who had emigrated to Australia, to devote herself to the family and his granddaughters. He obtained permanent residency in Australia in 2015.

Today he is very active in Canberra's Italian community, collaborating with the Dante Alighieri Society and the city's Com.it.es.

He is the author of the book “Storie di italo australiani a Canberra” (Stories of Italian Australians in Canberra).
